The Maruti Ciaz will now be available in new top-of-the-line ZXi+ and ZDi+ variants. Mechanically similar to the lower variants, the only exterior change comes in the form of new 16-inch alloy wheels. In the cabin, the + variants have been equipped with SmartPlay, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that helps with navigation, acts as a screen for the reverse parking camera and supports voice commands. Also, the seats and the steering wheel have been covered in leather.
Competing against rivals like the Honda City, the Hyundai Verna, the Volkswagen Vento and its cousin, the Skoda Rapid. The Ciaz has been a strong player in the segment and the addition of these new variants will should attract those who found the cabin to be lacking with features and a little bit of that additional luxury.
The Maruti Ciaz petrol is powered by a 1.4-litre, K-Series, petrol engine, borrowed from the Ertiga, which develops 95 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. The Diesel variant is propelled by the popular 1.3-litre DDIS engine, which produces 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and there is still no word of an auto option yet.
