It’s no secret that Mahindra is testing their Xylo Compact rigorously over a long time. This one is spied in Manali what brings to our surprise is the number plate which bears the name of Maharashtra state. Maybe Mahindra is leaving no stone unturned testing their new car in all possible Indian conditions.
Mahindra is certainly playing smart with their new entry in a segment where none of the other players in competition have introduced such a car. With reducing the last row of seats and lowering the engine power to 1.5 lit, the Xylo compact will surely be a hot favourite to people who wished to have a Nissan Xtrail or the BMW X1 for the small size and utility on an SUV.
If Mahindra plans to sell it aggressively it should price it in the 5 lakh range, this will give a headache to many hatchback & entry level sedan makers. Plus the extra boot space and shorter wheelbase will prove to be a boon to mall shoppers.
