Mahindra announces third edition of Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards

The Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. today announced the third edition of the Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards 2013 (MSIAA 2013). These awards were conceptualised and launched in 2011 to honour farmers and institutions, in order to recognize their noteworthy and purposeful contributions to the field of agriculture, which is the backbone of the Indian economy.
The MSIAA 2013 recognizes individuals and institutions that have risen above the ordinary by accepting no limits, thinking innovatively and driving positive change in the field of agriculture.

On this occasion, Bishwambhar Mishra, Chief Executive, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., said, “The Mahindra Samriddhi Agri Awards highlight some of the most inspiring farmer stories in the agricultural community. The awards create an opportunity for us and the farming community to exchange knowledge and share best practices. We have created a unique platform where farmers, scientists, institutions, universities and policy makers of the Govt. of India come together for introspection and deliberation while also reflecting on the methods by which agriculture can be modernized in India.”

Speaking about the entries expected for MSIAA 2013, Sanjeev Goyle, Sr. Vice President, Marketing, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “The Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards is a true reflection of our intent to spread the message of Farmtech Prosperity in India. In its first year we received 11,000 farmer nominations which increased to over 19,000 in the second year. The nomination phase begins from November 15 to December 15, 2012 and this year we would like to set a new record in seeking nominations. There are success stories in every nook and corner of the Indian agri space. We want to highlight such stories by seeking maximum nominations and identifying potential farmers with unique practices who need to be acknowledged for their contributions to the Indian Agri space”.

This initiative is an extension of the company’s Mahindra Samriddhi Intiative which aims to enhance agricultural productivity through creative farming technologies, thereby leading to an increase in rural prosperity. As part of this concept, several Mahindra dealerships have been transformed into Samriddhi Centres offering the farmer easy access to technological know-how, hybrid seeds, soil and water testing facilities, demo farms, finance and insurance, internet updates and sales and servicing of tractors and implements.
