Magneti Marelli inaugurated its new plant in Guangzhou, China. The plant is located near the Planvim Industrial Park, Nansha District, and will integrate with the Suspension Systems area the industrial perimeter of Magneti Marelli in China. The new plant will host also pedals systems production. The structure covers an area of 27 thousand square metres, over 17 thousand of which are devoted to production facilities.

The production capacity at full speed will enable the plant to supply suspension systems for about 220,000 vehicles a year, and pedal boxes for about 100,000 vehicles a year. The plant will start with a team of about 60 employees. With the inauguration of this plant in Guangzhou, Magneti Marelli China integrates the activities related to suspension systems and plastic components and modules, also to support directly FCA Group brands in the region.

Magneti Marelli has been present in China since 1996 with production plants and R&D/Engineering Centres in Shanghai, Wuhu, Guangzhou, Changsha, Hangzhou, Changchun, Hefei, Foshan, and Xiaogan in the province of Hubei. In december 2015 Automotive Lighting and Changchun Fudi have also signed an agreement for the establishment of a Joint Venture aimed at lighting systems for the automotive market, that will be located in Changchun.

Magneti Marelli designs and produces advanced systems and components for the automotive industry. With 89 production units, 12 R&D centres and 30 application centres in 19 countries, approximately 40,500 employees and a turnover of 7.3 billion Euro in 2015, the group supplies all the major carmakers in Europe, North and South America and the Far East.
