Lexus Opens Its First Indian Dealership In Mumbai

Lexus has finally set shop in India with its first official dealership in place in the country’s financial capital of Mumbai. The Lexus Mumbai dealership is located near the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport‘s domestic terminal at Taj Santacruz, Mumbai. Followed by the Mumbai showroom, Lexus will further extend its Indian dealership network in New Delhi, Gurgaon and Bangalore along with its after sales service facilities that will also be available in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.

In India, Lexus comes with the RX 450h, the ES 300h and the LX 450d models, out of which LX 450d is scheduled for a launch later. The ES 300h luxury sedan combines a 2.5-litre, in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine with Lexus Hybrid Drive to deliver 200 total system HP, which is sent to the front wheels via an electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission. Noted features on the ES 300h include an Ultra Luxury Package with full leather interiors, a Lexus Enform infotainment system, a Mark Levinson audio system with 15 speakers, Lexus Safety+ and Drive Mode Select. The Lexus ES 300h is priced at INR 55.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

The RX 450h luxury crossover combines a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine combined with the Lexus Hybrid Drive to deliver 308 total system HP. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes as standard. F-Sport variants for the RX 450h are also on in offing, which offer sport-tuned suspension, styling enhancements, LFA-inspired instrumentation and standard AWD. The standard variant is priced at INR 1.07 crore and the F-Sport variant has been priced at INR 1.09 crore (All Prices are Ex showroom).

The LX 450d luxury SUV comes with the same 4.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 diesel engine as found under the hood of the India-spec Toyota Land Cruiser good for 269 HP and 650 Nm of torque. It is expected to be priced at INR 2.3 crore. A more powerful LX 570 might be in the pipeline for India as well. It uses a 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 383 HP and 547 Nm of torque, while being paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new Lexus LX 570 also offers adjustable drive modes, which include Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
