LEAKED: Suzuki Gixxer Specs & Power Output Revealed

In January this year, Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited unveiled the Gixxer 155 cc motorcycle and the Let’s Scooter. Although the bike was revealed, the technical specifications of the bike were kept under wraps.

Now, according to a report, the power and torque figures of the Suzuki Gixxer have been leaked. The Gixxer is powered by a 155cc single cylinder, SOHC engine with air cooling and a Carburettor for fuel intake. The bike employs monoshock suspension at the rear, with front disc brakes and drum rear brakes. Tyre specifications are rated at 100/80/17 at the front and 140/60/17 at a rear.

According to the report, the Suzuki Gixxer produces 13.9 PS of max power and a peak torque of 13.4 Nm from its 150cc single cylinder SOHC air cooled carbureted engine.

The 155cc Gixxer engine is being marketed as a SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) powered unit. The company claims the engine technology helps acheive top-class fuel efficiency without compromising power and performance. The engine, having allegedly benefited from Suzuki’s experience in racing, features technology which benefits from the reduction of all kinds of mechanical losses, efficient design of every component and attention to detail in our manufacturing process. This helps deliver both economy and performance.

The Gixxer’s engine and chassis was apparently developed by the engineers who designed the legendary GSX-R series. The frame for the bike has been kept light and stiff to aid handling. The engine has been developed from the scratch to offer significant advantages over competition. It is claimed to deliver “exceptional running performance with a broad low-end torque and dynamic mid-range power for strong acceleration.”
