Lamborghini will turn 50 years old in 2013. And one of the world’s most revered sports car maker plans to paint the world red (oops, wouldn’t that be the Ferrari colour?) in celebration. The company asserts that it has achieved ‘100 years of evolution in half the time’. With cars like the 350 GT, the Miura, the Countach, the LM 002 and today’s Gallardo and Aventador under the Bolognese brand’s belt, we wouldn’t entirely disagree with the assumption.
Today, Lamborghini is a company present in 45 countries through a network of more than 120 dealers. However, the heart of Lamborghini’s production remains at its home in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the same place where the factory’s foundation was laid in May, 1963.
Lamborghini will celebrate its legendary 50th anniversary throughout 2013. The year-long celebrations, held in Italy and worldwide, will culminate on May 7 – 11. Lamborghinis from every corner of the world would traverse 1200 km of Italy’s roads to celebrate the occasion. Lamborghini will fund the event directly, and will also channel 10% of the proceeds from various participation and sponsorship fees into a fund for rebuilding social and cultural centers in the earthquake-affected area of Emilia, conscious of the need to reach out to the region which helped create the legend.
The anniversary website – www.lamborghini50.com – has already gone live, where the logo for the anniversary celebration (posted above) has also been unveiled.
