Lamborghini announces front engined V12 GT concept for Geneva debut

Lamborghini front engined V12

As a part of Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, President & CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated that Lamborghini will reveal something “truly extraordinary” based on a V12 configuration, BUT NOT on the Aventador platform.

Slated to be showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, it is speculated to rival the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta which happens to be a front-mid engined two door sportster. The new exotic GT Concept on similar lines is rumoured to be a front-mid engine two door coupe using Lamborghini’s four-wheeled drive and liberal carbon fibre construction.

Just a few days back the company’s Design Director Filippo Perini had disclosed the debut of their Aventor-based fastest supercar at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. However as per Winkelmann, the GT concept is not confirmed for production and would rather serve as a future consideration just in case. The company is presently emphasizing on getting their hybrid SUV ‘Urus’ to start rolling but pending a go ahead by Volkswagen.
