KTM 200 Duke and 125 Duke get ABS for European Market

Austrian bike maker KTM has installed ABS(anti-lock braking system)to the 2013 edition of the KTM 200 Duke and 125 Duke, both of which are ‘Made-In-India’ by BAL. This welcomed development is courtesy the new European legislation that has made ABS mandatory for all bikes which are sold in Europe. This is not all as the 2013 model year KTM 200 Duke and 125 Duke also get brake rotors which are bigger in size by 20 mm. Further enhancing the braking system is the fact that the brake rotor is now mounted radial-ly  for enhanced performance.

As expected, the inclusion of ABS will result into a moderate price increase of INR 20000/300 Euros.

It is not known if the KTM 200 Duke ABS will ever make it to Indian market. However, the CBR 250R, which is available in India with ABS option, will surely lose its advantage in case BAL decides to bring in the ABS equipped 200 Duke.

  1. I think Duke 200 ABS will make it to India, after all they are being manufactured in India. One should appreciate KTM for making ABS a standard feature on a 125cc bike instead of launching it as a separate variant.
