Karizma ZMR 250 rumoured for 2014 Auto Expo Debut

Karizma ZMR 250

Seems like the collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is getting underway. With the Bajaj-KTM Alliance and Honda running away with the performance shields- the country’s largest motorcycle manufacturer seems to have finally pulling up its socks. Recently having acquired a 49.2% stake in Erik Buell Racing for US$ 25 million, Hero Motocorp looks all set to join the performance chart.

Autosite Bikewale.com has reported Hero Motocorp would be unveiling their offering in a 250cc variant under the Karizma ZMR badge. Rumoured to make its debut at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, power ratings of the the EBR-AVL developed motor is speculated to hover between 25 to 29 ps with ample twisting force at disposal.

Donning a fully faired attire and sporty riding ergonomics, the motorcycle would look to lock horns with the Honda CBR250R and the Duke 200. Bikewale states that a competitive pricing strategy could well pitch the ZMR 250 close to the Yamaha R15 territory rendering great value for money.

On our part we’d wish that the ZMR 250 turns out to be a complete ground-up design (we’re no fans of the present bulky faired ZMR) and offer’s a value proposition for Indian biking aficionados looking out for an upgrade.

Till then, we look await the Auto Expo 2014 with bated breath.
