Mercedes SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition

German premium car maker Mercedes recently launched the new SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition in Japanese car market.

Draped in Polar White paint, the latest special edition SLK comes equipped with a Magic Sky Control panoramic roof and an AMG sport package. This Sport package consists of a revised front bumper, revised side skirts, a revised rear fascia, AMG brake calipers and  a set of 18 inch five spoke alloy wheels.

On the inside, the changes are rather limited in number. The SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition comes with rich Bengal Red Nappa leather upholstery and “solar red” ambient lighting. As is obvious from this special edition’s name, the car comes equipped with the Radar Safety Package which consists of Distronic Plus, Brake Assist Plus, Blind Spot Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist.

Mechanically, the car remains unchanged and is powered by the same motor that powers the regular model. This means that powering the Mercedes SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition is a turbocharged 1.8 litre motor that has a max power of 184 HP (135 kW) and a peak torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft).

Production of the new Mercedes SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition special variant will be limited to just 100 units. Prices for the latest special edition SLK start at ¥6,330,000 ($65,185 / €47,960).
