Jaguar F Type Wins Golden Steering Wheel Title

Jaguar F-TYPE

The Jaguar F Tyoe has been voted the winner of a prestigious Golden Steering Wheel award by readers of the respected German newspapers Bild am Sonntag and Auto Bild. The F Type competed in the ‘coupé and cabriolet’ category, finishing ahead of the Porsche Cayman and BMW 4 Series Coupé.

Dr Ralf Speth, CEO Jaguar Land Rover, received the award and said: “The enthusiasm of the readers for Jaguar is fantastic, and this award is confirmation of the good work of our team. I want to thank the knowledgeable German readers and discerning jury for their confidence in Jaguar. Their confidence not only validates our existing products, it challenges us for the future – which is why I am looking forward to revealing the F-TYPE Coupé in Los Angeles next week.

This year 49 new cars competed for Golden Steering Wheel awards in seven categories. In the first round of voting the readers of Auto Bild and its sister publications in over 20 European countries, together with the readers of Bild am Sonntag, were asked to choose their favourites. In two of the seven categories – including the F-TYPE’s ‘coupé and cabriolet’ category – the winner was directly selected by the readers.

The Golden Steering Wheel award is the latest in a series of accolades received by the F-TYPE since its launch, including ‘World Car Design of the Year 2013’, the Auto Motor und Sport ‘Autonis’ award and – after its unveiling at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 – Autoweek’s ‘Best in Show’ award. The F-TYPE range currently consists of three convertible models; the V6-engined F-TYPE (340PS) and F-TYPE S (380PS), and the 495PS F-TYPE V8 S. The F-TYPE range will soon be expanded by the addition of the F-TYPE Coupé which will make its dynamic global debut on 19th November in Los Angeles,
