We reported in detail when Rajiv Bajaj recently revealed that Bajaj Autos Ltd intends to launch as many as six new variants of the Discover commuter motorcycle. Out of the six upcoming Discover variants, as many as four will be launched this year.
Now, hardly a few days after this revelation, a Bajaj Discover test mule has been spotted testing on public roads of Pune. It is hard to say which upcoming variant of the Discover this bike might be but our guess is that the bike that has been spotted will sit between the Discover 100T and the 125ST. This means that the bike could be a new Bajaj Discover 110cc variant that would be a replacement for the earlier generation Discover 112.
The basis of our guesswork is the fact that the test mule that has been spotted sports a styling that is similar to that of the 100T. Very much like the recently launched bike, the test mule was seen sporting twin shock-absorbers at the rear and full chain cover.
It is a known fact that Bajaj will soon launch a new variant of the new generation Discover and hence, we aren’t too surprised to see this spy pic surfacing on the cyber space.
It may be noted that Bajaj is readying itself to launch a range of new bikes this year. These bikes include the much hyped KTM 390 Duke and the Pulsar 375. The Duke 390 can be launched any moment now and the Pulsar 375 is expected to follow in a few months. With the new Pulsar and Duke catering to the fast developing Indian performance bike market and the new Discover variants targeting the executive commuter segment bike buyers, Bajaj might very well regain the market share it lost to Honda.
