Maruti Suzuki today announced the introduction of Ciaz RS, a new variant of its popular mid-size sedan, which has already sold over 56,000 units since launch in October 2014. Over the regular Ciaz, the RS moniker adds a body kit which includes front and rear bumper extensions, along with side skirts and a trunk lid spoiler with integrated brake light.
On the inside, the Ciaz RS sports all-black interiors against the traditional dual tone interiors of the regular Ciaz, apart from a grey chrome finish instrument panel. The Ciaz RS employs a similar choice of two engines, which include the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine good for 91 BHP @ 6,000 rpm; 130 Nm @ 4,000 rpm, paired to a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT, and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with SVHS, good for 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm; 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm, paired to a 5-speed MT.
The Ciaz RS is available in a choice of seven colours – Pearl Snow White, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangria Red, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistening Gray, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Clear Beige. The RS variant can be only had with the ZXi+ and ZDi+ trims.
