Hyundai Motor India Limited sold 51,505 units in April, reports sales rise of 2.6% YOY

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) posted a sales growth of 2.6% year-over-year, selling a total of 51,505 units in April 2015. The Korean carmaker shifted 50,222 units the same time last year. The domestic market sales stood at 35,248 units in April ’14, a figure which touched 38,601 units this time around and that’s a rise of 9.5% YOY. Though the domestic market showed great promise, the export market for HMIL did not fare all that well. Sales stood at 14,974 units the same time last year, which declined to 12,904 units this time. Resulting in a drop of 13.8% YOY.

The i20 Active is one of the latest from HMIL for India, did well too.

Rakesh Srivastava, the senior vice president, sales and marketing said, “Hyundai with a volume of 38,601 units continued the growth momentum with 9.5% increase over last year on the strength of strong and young product portfolio led by 12,425 units of Elite i20 and i20 Active in a challenging market conditions especially in the rural market.”
