Hyundai India to Launch the New Santa Fe in February 2014

According to a report by OD, Hyundai India is going to launch the new Hyundai Santa Fe in February next year.

The 7 seater SUV from the Korean car maker competes against the Toyota Fortuner, which is the segment leader. Earlier, Hyundai sold the Santa Fe via the CBU route. Now, Hyundai will be assembling the new Santa Fe in its Chennai plant. With the assembly being done in Chennai, Hyundai will likely reduce the pricing a bit, which will help garner more sales.

Globally, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is available with two petrol engine options. These include a 2 liter turbo and a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated motors. The car is also available in some markets with a 2.2 liter oil burner, and the new car will also be powered by this engine. All the three motors mentioned here come mated to a 6 speed auto box.

The new Santa Fe is expected to be priced at about 22 lakh INR for the entry-level two wheel drive diesel version with a manual transmission. The two wheel drive version is also expected to come with an auto box. The all wheel drive version will be restricted to the auto box.

The 2013 Santa Fe boasts of the car maker’s Storm Edge design language. The Storm Edge design language is the new one from the Korean auto giant.  On the interior side, the car will feature a very stylish dashboard design and rich materials can be found in plenty. The car will come loaded with all the bells n whistles.
