Hyundai India recently launched the sixth generation Elantra in India with a price tag of INR 12.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Now, as we wait for the D-segment sedan to make its way onto the Indian roads, the Korean automobile manufacturer has quietly launched a new, automatic variant for another model, that is the Elite i20 Automatic. The automatic variant of the premium hatchback commands a price of INR 9.01 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

Powering the Elite i20 Automatic is Hyundai’s 1.4-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine. This 1368cc motor is tuned to produce a power output of 100 PS at 6000 rpm while the peak torque of 132 Nm comes up at 4000 rpm. This engine now comes mated to a four speed automatic transmission as an option whereas a five speed manual transmission is standard. The Elite i20 automatic will now rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz, and the Ford Figo.
Available only in the Magna trim, the Automatic variant of the premium hatchback comes equipped with features such as dual airbags, a 2 din music system with Aux-in, Bluetooth and 1 GB of internal storage. The model also benefits from steering mounted audio controls and rear Ac vents.
