Rumours have suddenly emerged that Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese giant, might come up with a new 150cc motorcycle to challenge the Hero Hunk, Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi, Suzuki GS150R and Yamaha FZ16.
It is being said that HMSI will launch the new 150cc motorcycle in next few months and the new bike will join the other two Honda offerings in the 150cc commuter segment.
It may be noted that Honda currently sells Unicorn and Dazzler 150cc bikes in this segment and while we have many good things to say about the two machines, the Honda 150cc duo has failed to put on an impressive show in the bike market.
Honda might be contemplating brining the 2013 Honda Verza 150 motorcycle to Indian market. The Verza 150 has been recently launched in Indonesia and is powered by a 150cc, air cooled, four stroke engine with a PGMFI fuel injection system. Coupled to this engine is a five speed gearbox. Unlike the Unicorn and Dazzler, the Verza gets conventional twin shock set up in the rear and there are good chances that India would get a carburetted version of the bike to keep the costs under check.
The Verza will be positioned below both Unicorn and the Dazzler and will come with a considerably lower price tag. With the launch of Verza, Honda India will have four 150cc motorcycles on sale in the country- Unicorn, Dazzler, CBR150R and Verza 150 !!
