Honda To Launch More Commuter Bikes in India

Popular auto maker Honda looks all set to give a good fight to Hero MotoCorp, its former partner in Indian two wheeler market. Regulars here would remember that we have always felt that the recently introduced Honda Dream Yuga 110 might very well be the next big thing in Indian Commuter Bike segment. Now, Honda is planning to launch more products in 100-125cc segment.

The new bikes will be based on the Dream Yuga 110 platform and will focus on delivering high fuel efficiency figure along with being easy to maintain. Honda has already overtaken Bajaj Auto Ltd. in terms of sales and has boosted its manufacturing capacity to cope up with the increasing demand. Industry experts say that the Japanese giant will overtake Hero Motocorp, which has been ruling the Indian bike market since almost two decades now, by the end of 2015. It will be interesting to see if Hero Motocorp will see a decline in sales of Splendour and Passion, its bread and butter models, owing to Indian bike buyers tilting their buying decision towards much more modern bikes from Honda.
