Update: The Honda Two wheeler website shows that the Navi will sell in Mumbai for an on-road price of INR 47,113. Also after contacting a dealership we received a final on-road quote of INR 49,800 that includes all the accessories – leg guard, side stand, licence plate holder.

For those who thought the prices of the funky mini-moto-scoot are easy on pockets, think again. While buyers don’t expect a huge price difference to get their vehicle on-road from ex-showroom, the Honda Navi, which is priced at INR 39,500 (Ex-showroom), will demand more moolah to come home. With an addition of almost about INR 10,000 to the ex-showroom price, the base variant may roll out with a close to INR 50,000 price tag (as discussed by a local dealership).

After  ingredients that have caused a swell in the price are the obvious – vehicle registration, taxes and insurance; in addition to that, dealers will charge the buyers for mandatory accessories such as leg-guard, side stand and a number-plate holder.

This new breed of mini-motos was launched at the 2016 Auto Expo held in February. The Honda Navi is HMSI’s (Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd) first indigenous creation and was launched at the expo itself. Following its launch, the company introduces the NAVi mobile app that provides an insight and specification of the Honda Navi range. Potential buyers can also book the vehicle through the app at a booking amount of INR 1,000. The Navi garnered positive response and received over 1,000 bookings in just over a month’s time and the company has already commenced the dispatch process.

Speaking about the hardware details, the Honda Navi draws power from an 110 cc single-cylinder engine with HET (Honda Eco Technology) that comes strapped with a V-matic transmission. The engine spouts 7.83 Bhp of power at 7,000 rpm and a max torque of 8.96 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The Navi can do a top speed of 81 km/h. It will is available in 5 colour options – Patriot Red, Hopper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black.

The Honda Navi seems to be a fun-tastic product, but we shall comment on its performance only when we have put the scoot through our tests. So stay tuned as we will get the Navi in our lab and give you our ride impressions and an in-depth review.
