On an auspicious day, after Gold, it seems that the second most popular thing on the shopping list of Indians happens to be Honda two-wheelers. It wasn’t even Diwali, yet Honda managed to shift a whopping 41,000 two-wheeled units during the auspicious Akshaya Tritiya day, a 50% increase in figures over the same day last year. At the same time, overall Dream series (comprising of Dream Yuga, Dream NEO and CD 110 Dream) witnessed spectacular 55% rise in sales.
Elaborating on the sales, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “While we had the reports on muted sentiment towards gold-buying, it has been a great revelation of trust & confidence in brand Honda seeing the swelling walk-ins at our network and overall conversions into retails. The 50% increase in sales during akshaya tritiya is a significant jump, and even surpassed all our expectations. This, yet again reinforces trust that customer repose in Honda.”
