A blogger meet scheduled for the motoring scribes in Indonesia may also be the stage where Honda will unveil it’s new quarter-litre motorcycle, the CBR250RR. While Honda has not specifically mentioned anything about the CBR250RR launch, the invite does mention a ‘new product’ in the text. The motorcycle has been in news for quite some time and Honda’s principal Indonesian dealer, Astra-Honda, had teased this upcoming product on an earlier occasion through a promotional video.

The CBR250RR, which made its debut in the form of a concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, grabbed a lot of attention through its sinister looks. Apart from the futuristic styling, the RR badge motorcycle, in its concept form, carried premium set of hardware such as upside down telescopic fork upfront and petal disc brakes with ABS. The production spec model, according to the teaser video, is expected to retain those features.

Honda has remained tight-lipped about the performance numbers. While the mechanical details are yet unknown, the digital cockpit on the concept motorcycle showed a heady a 14,000 rpm redline. The engine is expected to be a parallel twin-cylinder 250cc liquid-cooled motor with ride-by-wire technology and different riding modes. The performance numbers are expected to be around 35 bhp which is in the range of what the current breed of quarter-litres from Japan are delivering.

The meet is scheduled on July 25, 2016 so it’s a matter of days before we find out what has Honda planned for the event.
