Honda CB Trigger Unveiled. Targeted at Apache RTR and FZ Series

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India ltd, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto giant, has introduced the new Honda CB Trigger motorcycle in to the fast developing Indian two wheeler market today.

The new Honda CB Trigger has been targeted at the TVS RTR and the Yamaha FZ series of motorcycles and will trigger off a new battle in the very exciting 150-180cc performance bike segment.

The new Trigger will appeal to the young bike buyers and will be a logical step for those wishing to upgrade from their 125-150cc bikes. The Honda CB Trigger has a muscular fuel tank and comes loaded with the usual stuff such as a digital instrument panel, alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. The latest from HMSI is first 150cc bike in its segment to get the Combi Brake System.

Powering the new Honda CB Trigger is a 150cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine with a max power output of 13.81 BHP@ 8500 RPM and 12.5Nm@ 6500 RPM. The company claims that the new bike can stretch a litre of unleaded to 60 kms.

The bike gets telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike has 240mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear. The Honda CB Trigger goes on sale with three paint options- Pearl Siena Red, Meteor Green Metallic and Black.

The bookings for the new bike open next month and the new 150cc contender will be available in three variants-

CB Trigger Standard with front disc brake

CB Trigger Deluxe with front and rear disc brake

CB Trigger CBS with front and rear disc brake + combi-braking system.

  1. From the images, I can spot a forward facing radiator, but then the article mentions the engine is air cooled. Optional liquid cooling as well?
