Honda Brio Amaze India Launch on April 11

The Honda Brio Amaze is among the most awaited cars of this year. The Brio based sedan is all set to become the cheapest sedan in Honda Cars India’s line up of cars. More importantly, Honda Brio Amaze is also all set to become the first Honda car in the country to sport a diesel engine. It may be noted that thanks to the lack of a diesel engine to plonk in to its India spec cars, Honda has been witnessing a drop in sales since some time now. The Honda Brio Amaze, in all probability, will be the comeback product for the ailing car maker.

Powering the Honda Brio Amaze is a 1.5 litre i-DTEC 4 cylinder diesel engine that is being expected to be high on fuel efficiency and power. This motor is developed alongside the much hyped 1.6 litre i-DTEC EarthDreams diesel engine that powers the UK spec Civic and has won a lot of accolades from the international media. The petrol variant of the Honda Brio Amaze is powered by the same 1.2 litre 4 petrol motor that powers the Brio hatchback. Thanks to an overall length of less than 4 metres and engine capacities below 1.5 litres, the Amaze qualifies to fall in the small car category and will benefit from the excise duty benefits provided by the Govt. of India. This means that Honda could price the Brio Amaze really aggressively in the Indian market.

While we knew that the Brio Amaze will be launched in India in April this year, it has now emerged that the car might be launched on April 11. The production of the Honda Brio Amaze sedan is already in full swing at the car maker’s manufacturing facility and we reported in detail when it recently emerged that the dealerships have started getting display cars. It is being said that Honda wishes to have 10,000 units of the Brio Amaze ready for delivery before it launches the car. This goes on to show the confidence that the car maker has in the upcoming sedan.

The Honda Brio Amaze will battle it out against the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the Chevrolet Sail sedan. It seems like life is soon going to become much tougher for the high selling Dzire.
