The Hero Splendor Pro Classic is out and has started dealerships. Say what you have to, but Hero Moto Corp’s new “gareebon ka cafe racer” is a a pretty bold move. The Splendor’s puny frame takes to the cafe racer theme rather awkwardly, but renders it an unique flavor. Like it or loathe it, it’s here to stay!
The cycle parts are all shared with the regular Splendor Pro, along with 97.2 cc, air cooled, 4 – stroke single cylinder OHC engine but it has been mildly re-tuned to produce 8.36 PS at 8,000 rpm in the café racer as compared to the 7.8 PS output (at 7,500 rpm) of the regular Splendor Pro- adhering to its cafe racing intentions. Torque figures have been bumped a tad too – the café racer produces 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm as compared to 8.04 Nm at 4,500 rpm from the Splendor Pro.
The Splendor Pro is priced at INR 44,150* for the basic variant, the ‘Drum Kick Spoke’ and INR 47,750* for the top-end model, the ‘Drum Self Cast – SE (Long Seat)’.
