Harley-Davidson India participates in the 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2010

Harley-Davidson India has participated for the first time at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally – the world’s largest bike rally. The company debited at the annual event in its 70th iteration and was represented by Anoop Prakash, Managing Director and Sanjay Tripathi, Director of Marketing. The rally was recently held from August 9 – 15, 2010, in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Harley-Davidson Motor Company organized several activities for customers in Sturgis including test rides and displays of new 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, parts & accessories, and MotorClothes. Several major bands performed through the duration of the rally including Guns N’ Roses, ZZ Top, Motley Crue, Kid Rock, The Scorpions and Bob Dylan. Early estimates of this year’s rally put the number of bikers in attendance at over 700,000 throughout the week.

“The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is one of the most celebrated biker events in the world, combining scenic and challenging riding routes, bike demos and displays, rock shows and festivities.  The feeling of camaraderie among the thousands of Harley riders is unmatched.  We look forward to delivering the rally experience to our customers in India in the months and years to come,” said Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India, who covered over 2500 miles on the 2010 Harley-Davidson Road King.
