The Chevrolet Sail Sedan is presently one of the most important cars for General Motors. The Sail entry level midsize sedan, which has been developed especially for car markets like that of India and China, has been selling in good nos. in the Chinese car market and will be the comeback product for General Motors India.
The Sail sedan is targeted at those who are fond of well priced 3 box cars with a frugal engine, a long features list and good rear seat comfort. The Sail, which replaces the Aveo, comes with a diesel power plant that should bring at least some customers to GM India dealers.
General Motors India aims to sell 48,000 Sail sedans before the end of the year 2013. The news comes from P Balendram, VP, GM India, at a recent press conference in Kochi.
It may be noted that the Chevrolet Sail has already registered over 1,000 bookings since its launch on Feb 1.
