Ford India has launched the celebratory edition of the very popular Ford Figo hatchback today. The new variant of the Figo has been launched to celebrate the third birthday of the carmaker’s bread and butter model.
The Ford Figo Celebration Edition, which will be produced and sold in limited numbers only, gets an array of new features and goes on sale with an attractive price tag of INR 4.16 Lakhs for the petrol variant and INR 5.16 Lakhs for the diesel variant.
Good handling, decent ride quality, spacious interiors and a ‘tried, tested and trusted’ diesel engine have always been the selling points of the Figo B segment hatchback. However, thanks to the advent of newer and more modern rivals, the car has been seeing a drop in its popularity since some time. It may be noted that Ford Figo went under the scalpel last year and the Figo facelift was launched in October 2012. However, the minor facelift couldn’t really manage to infuse much excitement in the ageing brand. It will now be interesting to see if the latest special edition Figo, which has been designed by Shantanu and Nikhil, will be able to bring in more customers to Ford India.
The Ford Figo special edition comes equipped with a Satellite Navigation System (SATNAV), Reverse parking assist system, Rear Spoiler, Limited Edition seat covers and Figo branded scuff plates. The Ford Figo Celebration edition is available with the Diamond White colour option only.
