Yesterday, we reported that rumours are doing rounds that the much awaited Ford EcoSport might be launched in Indian car market on March 4th. Back when we heard of these speculations, we wondered if the new car is really just a few days away from us. While it has always been known that the new Compact SUV would commence its Indian innings in Mar/Apr, a March 4th launch was something that was never anticipated by us.
Now, Ford has announced the launch of a new model on March 4th. As was pretty obvious, Ford India WON’T launch the new EcoSport on 4th of next month. Instead, what is coming our way is an all new celebratory variant of the very popular Figo hatchback.
The Ford Figo has completed three years in Indian market and Ford will launch a new special edition of Figo to celebrate the three years of its B segment hatchback. The Figo hatchback is highly responsible for bringing in a lot of customers to Ford India and the Figo hatchback has sold in good numbers.
However, the Figo is fast getting dated and is losing out to newer and more modern rivals. It seems like upcoming Figo Celebration Edition is a bid to keep the prospective customers from going away from the brand.
The Ford Figo Celebration Edition, in all probability, will come with new paint options, an upholstery change, more features, new design alloy wheels and Celebration Edition badges. The special edition of Figo is expected to come with an attractive price tag that should help Ford with luring in more buyers to Ford India dealerships.
