Ford EcoSport waiting period extends upto 9 months


The new Ford EcoSport compact crossover has to be among the most successful of recently launched cars and the car received more than 30000 bookings within 17 days of its launch. Much of this has to do with the fact that the car has been launched at such a price point that it targets not just compact SUV buyers but also those who are in the market for premium hatchbacks and entry level sedans.

The entry level engine variant of EcoSport is powered by the same 1.5 litre normally aspirated petrol motor that powers the new Fiesta sedan. The 1.5 litres petrol engine can be ordered with either a 5 speed manual transmission or a 6 speed auto’ transmission.

The diesel engine variant, and the one which is responsible for bringing most of the sales volumes, is powered by the Fiesta’s 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine.

The second petrol engine variant is powered by the much hyped Ford EcoBoost 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. No auto box for the EcoBoost.

Recently, details on the waiting period for various variants of the EcoSport surfaced on the cyber space.

The EcoSport TDCI Ambient, the entry level diesel engine variant, has a waiting period of 2 months. The TDCI Trend has a waiting period of 3 months and the waiting period for the top end Titanium and Titanium Option variants is of 9 months!

Both the petrol variants too have a waiting period for as much as 9 months for some trim levels.

The Ford Ecosport can be booked for an amount of INR 50000 and is available in four trim levels-

  • Ambiente
  • Trend
  • Titanium
  • Titanium Plus
