Five upcoming 150cc bikes in india 2014 [Discover 150F; Pulsar 150NS; Xtreme Sports, Yamaha R15, Gixxer 155]

That the Indian biking scene is growing at an impressive rate is a fact that hasn’t been a secret for many. And among the bikes headed our way are machines not just in the 250cc-plus segment but also in segments that cater to the major chunk of bike buying lot. We’ve already reported about the mid-weight performance bikes headed to us (CLICK HERE for our earlier story) and now, we’ve come up with a list of five upcoming 150cc bikes in India 2014 that would be positioned in the mainstream market.

Bajaj Discover F150

We weren’t really surprised when some Bajaj Discover F150 images surfaced on the web world earlier today. Come to think of it, BAL has always been pretty vocal about the aggressive plans it has for its Discover brand of bikes and a logical successor to the Disco 150 that was launched some years back has almost always been on the cards. However, unlike the Discovers we all have known of, the upcoming model boasts of a half fairing, that would see it rubbing shoulders with Honda Stunner and the likes in terms of styling. In terms of pricing too, the F150 won’t be too costlier than the aforementioned bike and it would find itself positioned at the lower end of 150cc segment. This is surely one bike that could very well be a game changer of sorts for the Discover brand! Click here for our review of the bike

Bajaj Pulsar 150NS

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 150NS, as the name suggests, would be highly based on the 200NS and would come with similar naked-street bodywork. While there are good chances that the bike would miss out on the mono-suspension and rear disc brake, it would still get new design alloy wheels, a split seat and a digi speedo console similar to that of the 200NS.  Not much is currently known about the 150NS but it is being hoped that the bike would be introduced early next year.

Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0

The upcoming YZF R15 V3.0 facelift is the priciest and the most powerful bike we have here in this list. Expected to be launched next month, the YZF R15 V3.0 will be mightier by 1 PS (only!) and will come with a host of technical upgrades that would bestow the bike with a better torque curve and hence, a more useful mid-range. Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 Price in India is expected to be the same as that of the current model, which means the bike would be sold for a price of around INR 1.13 lakhs (ex-showroom). Suzuki Gixxer 155

The upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 155, regardless of the misleading name, is a 150cc street naked that would take on the likes of Yamaha Fazer FZ16 and Honda CB Trigger. The Gixxer 155 will become the second Suzuki contender in the 150cc segment, first being the Suzuki GS150R. The Gixxer 155 boasts of some really tasty body work and comes with features like a digi speedo console, front disc brake, et al. Suzuki Gixxer 155 is not too far from its launch and we really won’t be surprised to see the upcoming 150cc bike garnering a better response than its bikini-faired sibling. Hero Xtreme Sports

Basically a slightly sportier variant of the Xtreme 150cc motorcycle, the upcoming Hero Xtreme Sports launch can happen any moment now and there are good chances that Hero Xtreme Sports price won’t be pegged too higher than that of the standard variant. CLICK HERE for our earlier story on Hero Xtreme Sports. The Xtreme Sports is powered by the same 149.2cc air-cooled engine that powers the regular variant. This motor has a max power of 15.2bhp@ 8500 rpm and peak torque of 12.80 Nm @ 6500 rpm. Updates that the Sports variant carries include new graphics, restyled headlamp with LED pilot lamps and wider rear tyre.

So, which of these upcoming 150cc bikes in India 2014 are you really looking forward to?
