The boffins at Fiat have launched a new variant of the Fiat Grande Punto in the UK market. Christened as the Fiat Punto Jet Black, the latest variant of the popular hatchback is a special edition model and production of this car will be limited to only 300 units. The Fiat Punto Jet Black, as is obvious, comes draped in jet black paint finish with matte black stripes. Other changes include jet black badges and 17 inch alloy wheels. The car comes with side skirts, roof spoiler and tinted windows. It may be noted that the UK car market has the 2013 facelift version on sale and the latest variant of the Punto is based on the updated model.
Powering the Punto Jet Black edition is a 1.4 Liter 76 Bhp petrol engine. We feel that the car has more show than go and it would be more than appropriate to plonk in the 1.4 Liter T-Jet petrol engine into the sporty looking car.
There is no chance of the latest variant of the Punto coming to us. India is yet to get the facelifted car and it is being said that the facelift would debut only with the launch of the upcoming Abarth version.
The Fiat Punto Abarth is looking all set to become the hottest ever hatchback in our B segment and would be powered by the 1.4 Liter T-Jet turbo petrol engine that will have a max power figure of 160 Bhp and will be mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
