Fiat Punto EVO India Launch to happen on August 5th

We recently test drove the new Fiat Punto EVO from Mumbai to Lonavala and back. According to our sources, the Fiat Punto EVO is set to happen on the 5th August, 2014.

Fiat has retained the powertrains of the Punto for the Punto EVO. The car will be available in 8 trims- 4 petrol and 4 diesel. The petrol engines will be the same 1.2 liter 4 pot and 1.4 liter 4 pot mills which churn out 67 bhp-96 Nm and 89 bhp-115 Nm respectively. Diesel engine will be the same 1.3 liter Multijet motor which will be offered in 75 bhp-197 Nm (fixed geometry turbo) and 90 bhp-209 Nm (variable geometry turbo) states of tunes. All the engines will come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

Fiat has given the Punto EVO a complete revamp for the Indian market. The car gets the front styling which has design cues from the Avventura concept. The Fiat Punto EVO receives new headlamps, a new front grille, a redesigned bonnet and a revised front bumper with new fog lamp housing. At the rear, the car gets new tail lamps, new Punto EVO badging and a new bumper. On the interior front, the car gets a redesigned dashboard with a central storage space which can hold some small items. The car also gets rear AC vents for some variants.
