Fiat Linea facelift to make its India debut at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo

That the good chaps at Fiat India intend to soon bring the Linea facelift to India is a well known fact. However, it has now emerged that unlike what was being speculated here, the car won’t be launched before 2014 and would set foot in India only at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, which will happen in early February.

The Fiat Linea facelift will be considerably more premium than the recently launched Linea Classic- the budget basement variants of Fiat’s C segment sedan.

The Linea facelift sports a revised boot-lid, which houses the rear number plate. The car also gets a new rear bumper, new front bumper, a new front grille and a lip spoiler.

It is being speculated that the Linea facelift will get a 1.6 litres Multijet diesel engine. Other engine option on offer might include the 1.4 litres turbocharged petrol motor that powers the Linea T-JET, the performance variant of the Linea sedan.

Worth mentioning here is that the Fiat Linea has never exactly set the sales charts on fire in the upper C segment of Indian car market and has suffered mainly due to the poor after sales support that was being offered by the Tata-Fiat venture. However, all this is fast becoming a thing of past, as Fiat India and Tata Motors have parted ways for good and we feel that the Fiat’s attempt on improving the service network might make the Linea facelift enjoy a better fate than its predecessor.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the India bound Fiat Linea facelift India launch.
