Fiat India launched the Avventura for the Indian market in October 2014. The pseudo crossover, that was launched with a price tag of INR 6.14 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai), didn’t seem to do well with the sales numbers. Barely a year later, the company launched a performance variant of the model known as the Fiat Avventura Abarth.
At the 2016 Auto Expo held in February, Fiat showcased a concept based on the Avventura known as the Avventura Urban Cross. Now, reports suggest that the concept is all set for a launch this year, probably during the festive season. The model displayed at the expo was devoid of its ‘Avventureous’ features such as fully functional roof rails, a spare wheel on the trunk, etc.
The concept model at the expo featured a more rugged front, a two-tone paintjob, LED headlights, follow me headlamps, ORVM turn indicators, panoramic sunroof, 17 inch alloy wheels with red accents and LED optical guides inside the tail lamps. The silver body cladding on the Avventura Urban Cross replaces the conventional black body cladding. The interior will receive a dual tone theme and a touchscreen infotainment system.

At the heart of the model will be a 1.4 litre T-Jet petrol engine tuned to produce a maximum power output of 140 PS at 5500 rpm while the peak torque of 210 Nm comes up at 2000-4000 rpm. This engine comes mated to a five speed manual transmission.
