Fiat India today revealed that it plans to introduce an all new compact SUV in Indian car market by the end of 2014. It is expected that Fiat India could introduce the recently unveiled Fiat 500L Trekker that would go head on against the likes of Mini Cooper Contryman.

The Fiat 500L Trekker, which is basically a cosmetically souped up 500L, features a body kit and has sporty 17 inch mag wheels. The Fiat 500L Trekker is a 5 seater and seems to be bigger than the Mini Contryman.

Powering the new Fiat 500L Trekker is a 160 BHPP, 1.4 litre, turbocharged petrol motor that sports the MultiAir variable valve technology. This Trekker can be had with either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

  1. If you think of a compact Fiat SUV the first one to pop up would be the Fiat Sedici. Its dimensions bespeak compactness, agility, ease of handling: Fiat Sedici is 411 cm long, about 11 cm shorter compared to the average compact SUV, and less tall by 10 cm. The outcome? sedan-like flowing lines, ensuring good performances, stability, fuel economy and low emission levels. All this makes Fiat Sedici into the ideal car for long journeys and leisure time pursuits, mated to the ability to cope effortlessly with downtown traffic. http://www.drspmathew.wordpress.com
