Upcoming Toyota Etios facelift (3)

Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), the Indian arm of Toyota Motor Corporation launched the Etios back in the year 2010. The company later went on to launch the 2014 edition of the Etios sedan and the Etios Liva hatchback. Now about 2 years after this launch, the company seems to be working on a more significant facelift for the sedan.

Spy images sent by Motoroids reader Farhan reveal a test-mule of the upcoming Etios facelift with camouflage seen on both, the front and rear bumpers as well as the steering wheel apart from a few bits here and there. The camouflage on the front bumper hides a more aggressive design while the grille has shrunk in size and now arrives in a 4 slat design as opposed to the conventional one.

Moving to the posterior, the camouflage indicates a redesigned bumper and probably a horizontally running chrome strip bridging the tail lamps. Coming to the interiors, the Etios facelift receives new upholstery and hidden under the camouflage is probably a refreshed cap on the steering wheel. The model in the spy images comes mated to the conventional manual transmission.

Powering the Etios facelift would probably be the same 1.5 litre petrol engine and the 1.4 litre diesel engine. The former produces 90 PS of power and 132 Nm of torque while the latter produces a power output of 68 PS while the peak torque comes up at 170 Nm. Both engines come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

It can be noted that leaked images of the 2017 Toyota Etios facelift surfaced on the web a few days ago. the images revealed some crucial details of the upcoming features of the model such as a digital instrument cluster and various other cosmetic upgrades.
