The Ducati Scrambler is all set to reach Indian shores as the local dealerships have commenced the booking process. The motorcycle is scheduled to be launched in India in mid-May 2015 and local dealerships are already accepting a booking amount of Rs 2 lakh. The on-road price for Mumbai has been confirmed at Rs 7.92 lakh. But you will have to wait for some more time to swing a leg over the motorcycle as the test rides are scheduled to commence by the end of May 2015. Ducati will start rolling off the motorcycles from its dealerships from June 2015.

Skeptical about booking the motorcycle without getting a test ride? Well the good folks at Ducati confirmed that buyers can test ride before making the final payment. In case the motorcycle fails to impress the buyers, they can cancel the booking and get the full amount back as refund.

Mechanically, the Ducati Scrambler shares its power plant with the Monster 796 but receives a few tweaks in the motor. The air-cooled 803cc, 90-degree L-Twin motor on the Scrambler puts out 75 hp of power and 67.79 Nm (50 pound-feet) of torque, nearly 12 hp and 11Nm (8 pound feet) lower than the Monster 796. The tubular steel trellis frame is Scrambler specific, with 24-degree rake and 4.4-inch trail. Ducati will also offer a wide range of accessories for buyers to personalize their motorbikes including an apparel collection

The Ducati Scrambler will invoke nostalgia and make you go back in time, only with the addition of modern day electronics. So would you like to have a tour of history with the Scrambler?
