After a period of over 40 years since the production of  last scrambler, Ducati finally reinvented the scrambler series with the launch of the 2015 Ducati Scrambler. And now the Italian marque has brought the scrambler line-up to India by launching the Ducati Scrambler Urbano Enduro to scramble through the streets of India.

The launch happened as Ducati inaugurated its first dealership in South India in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, which will offer Ducati’s entire range available in India. VST, one of South India’s leading private automobile business groups, has now established the world class Ducati dealership at the luxury lifestyle destination of Bengaluru. The showroom will offer the entire Ducati range available in India, including the Italian manufacturer’s iconic Monster 821, Hypermotard and Hyperstrada, the provocative Diavel family and the company’s innovative and high-performance Superbike models: 1299, 1299 S and flagship Panigale R. Ducati India also plans to expand dealership network to more major metros in 2016.

The Ducati Scrambler Urbano Enduro

The retro-styled Ducati scrambler is powered by 803cc L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution air-cooled petrol engine and can spout 75bhp of power at 8250 rpm and 68 nm of torque at 5750 rpm. With the new cam timing tech the engine gives it more bottom-end torque and less high-end power. The scrambler comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets Kayaba inverted telescopic forks at the front and offset monoshock suspension at the rear.

The Urbano Enduro comes in wild green theme and is one of four variants of the Scrambler. It has a tear drop steel fuel tank with aluminium covers and a ribbed seat for the rider. Round headlight with LED ring, a higher front mudguard, fork protectors and new tech tail lights complete the retro yet modern looks of the bike. This green beast rides on a set of Pirelli dual sport tyres.

The Ducati Scrambler Enduro is capable of both on and off-road adventures, this might be one of the reasons why Ducati has launched the Scrambler in India. Our Indian roads are quite the adventurous ‘off-road’ material thanks to the pot holes, puddles, erratic traffic etc.

The Ducati Scrambler Urbano Enduro is priced at Rs. 7.9Lakhs(ex-showroom). It is one of four variants of the Scrambler line up, the other three variants are already available are Classic, Icon and Full Throttle. A new entry level small displacement Scrambler is expected to be introduced by Ducati at the EICMA event, which might land up in the Indian markets soon too.
