Ducati Introduces New Monster 821: Images, Specs and Variant Details

Ducati has introduced its brand new Monster 821 motorcycle powered by an 821cc 112bhp water cooled engine. The new motorcycle will be available in two variants – Standard and Dark, with the deliveries starting from July. The mid size motorcycle from Ducati underlines the company’s roots in Bologna and celebrates the third generation of the iconic naked model. Underlining Ducati’s strong association to the Bologna region, the company has chosen to release the first images of the new model portrayed in typical Bolognese ambience.

The new 821 is propelled by the latest version of Ducati’s highly successful 821 Testastretta 11° engine. Power output, as mentioned above is rated at 112hp, while peak torque output is 90Nm. The weight has been kept impressively low at 179.5kg – 395.7lb. The Monster 821 is all about minimalism and retraces it root to the the original essence of the Monster concept.

The new bike comes with high performance brakes and newly designed suspension. Ducati is calling the Monster 821 its ‘best yet’ motorcycle in terms of ergonomics, and also the ‘most attractive’ mid-range Monster ever. The focus is on comfort with the bike’s innovative adjustable seat height. In terms of tech, the model combines 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS and 3-level Ride-by-Wire into Ducati’s user-friendly, press-button Riding Modes.

The special Dark version of the Monster 821 is presented in dark stealth with black frame and black wheels. The Standard Monster 821 is available in two color trims – Ducati red with red frame and black wheels OR star white silk with red frame and matte red wheels. Both red and white liveries are equipped with colour-matched single-seat covers.
The new Motorcycles will go on sale from July with a price tag of dollar equivalent of roughly around Rs 6 lakh for the Standard variant and Rs 7 lakh for the Dark variant in the US

The motorcycle may come to India also in due course, as it’s a natural progression for the lower spec 795
