DSK Hyosung GD250R India launch in July

Hyosung GD250R

DSK Hyosung is gearing up to expand its portfolio by launching the GD250R in India. The DSK Hyosung GD250R India launch is expected to happen in July this year. Essentially a fully-faired version of the GD250N that was displayed earlier this year at the Auto Expo, the GD250R sports a single cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. Peak power is rated at a healthy 28.5bhp while the max. torque figure stands at 24Nm, transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission.

Petal discs handle stopping duties at both the front and rear, while suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down forks and a monoshock at the front and rear respectively. In keeping with its sporty inclinations, the GD250R ditches the straight ‘bars of its naked sibling in favour of clip-ons. The Euro 3 compliant quarter litre Hyosung will also sport a fully digital instrument console and come with the same spec of MRF tyres as the upcoming KTM RC200.

DSK Hyosung is betting on the Indian market’s fascination with fully faired bikes, and expects the GD250R to elicit a more favorable response than the naked GD250R. With an expected price tag of INR   2.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), and a fleet of quarter litre bikes expected to make their way to our shores soon, the Hyosung GD250R certainly has its work cut out.
