Dacia Duster Pick Up (Crew Cab) spotted testing in Romania.
Displayed at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil last year, the Renault Oroch Concept imagined a plausible Duster pick-up with a crew cab. Now, a Dacia Duster based pick-up, in what could possibly be the Oroch’s production guise has been spied testing in Romania, Dacia’s home turf. However, the Oroch concept and the test mule do share their differences – the rear end designs of both are quite disconnected.
Meanwhile, there already exists a Duster pick-up built by coach-builder Romturingia for OMV Petrom, South-Eastern Europe’s largest oil company in, who ordered a limited run of 500 units in October last year. Those units were single cab based pick-ups, whereas the one spotted looks more of a Oroch for the road.
The Oroch (above & below), a well-proportioned, smart Duster based crew cab pick-up concept, has been designed at the Renault design center for Latin America (RDAL) in Sao Paulo. Highlights include new, flush-fitting door handles, panoramic glass roof, orange accents, new headlamp/tail-lamp cluster, new bumpers, 18-inch wheels with 255/60 tires and broad side protective moldings.
We’ll have to wait and watch for this one, but it sure looks like a winning formula.
