This video features some scenes that seem to have come out straight from a sci-fi movie and if this video is anything go by, the upcoming model come with what Yamaha is calling ‘RevSTATION’. While Yamaha has refrained from divulging exact details of the upcoming bike, this vidoe provides a sneak peek at the Yamaha R25 concept that was unveiled earlier. Hence, it becomes all the more likely that the Yamaha R25 release date will fall on eight days from now, that is, on March 25.
The production spec Yamaha R25 is likely to be powered by a 250cc motor that will boast of a parallel twin cylinder layout and would have a max power of 35PS. Quite obviously, the engine would benefit from fuel injection and a six speed manual transmission. It is being said that while the international spec R25 would get this twin pot engine, Yamaha might very well decide to come up with a single cylinder 250cc motor for price-sensitive consumers like that of our country. While this engine will be marginally less power, its torque figures, thanks to its single cylinder layout, would be at par with that of the international model. The upcoming R25, unlike the R15, will be built around a new tubular frame. It may be noted that the R15 boasts of a steel spars deal.
In our country, the R25 will face competiton from the Hyosung GT250R, upcoming single cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and upcoming Honda CBR300R. It is being said that the R25 will be produced locally in India and hence, Yamaha R25 price in India would be ultra competitive.
