Castrol football Google Hangout kicks-off on June 18

Football season is in full swing as 2014 FIFA World Cup takes place in Brazil. Leveraging Castrol’s global sponsorship of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Castrol has launched the Castrol Activ Cling on to Football campaign which is pointed towards the enhancement of experience of the football fan of the ongoing tournament. The campaign that kicks off today is planned to be the largest football google hangout in India.

Football fans can join the hangout (https://goo.gl/Xn5rUf) and have the opportunity to express their views and participate in discussions with a panel including Abhishek Bachchan, Bhaichung Bhutia, Paul Masefield and Gaurav Kapoor. The hangout will commence at 5 pm IST and continue until 7 pm IST.

Commenting on the Castrol Activ Cling on to Football campaign, Soma Ghosh, Vice President Marketing, Castrol India Limited, said: “Football is fast gaining ground as one of the most popular sports amongst Indian urban youth and the 2014 FIFA World Cup is a great opportunity for us to leverage our position as one of its official sponsors. Whilst most advertisers and marketers are vying for attention of the television viewing audience, Castrol is focusing its activation around the ‘second screen.’ Castrol Activ with Actibond technology is one of our pioneering brands and will be at the center of the action in our digital and social media campaigns.”

Many of the football matches are late at nights and sometimes we may just completely miss it due to many reasons. Well, worry no more. Castrol brings in an initiative that will serve as a reminder service for football matches. Called the ‘Castrol Activ Cling on to Kick Off’ – the interactive voice response (IVR) based activity – will ensure that fans don’t miss any of the games by sending reminder SMS messages and giving ‘wake up’ calls.
