UPDATE: Bookings for Nissan Micra 1.5 dCi diesel open

Nissan India have announced the commencement of diesel Micra bookings today. The bookings for the car will be accepted across the 20 dealerships of the company for the diesel variant of Nissan Micra. The diesel variant of the Micra will go on sale before Christmas this year and the deliveries will begin in the new year. Apart from commencing the bookings for the new car, the company has also launched a comprehensive campaign to support the launch. The Japanese company hopes to replicate the success of the petrol variant of the car with the diesel version.
The diesel engine powering the Nissan Micra essentially is the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the Logan in India, although it will be in a different state of tune for the hatchback. More details on the power and torque output of the car will be brought to you later in the day, as we get it. The disel variant of the Micra will be available in XV and XV premium variants.

While the XV variant will have driver side airbag, power windows, A/C and music system as standard, the Premium version will have 15” alloys, Climate Control, Proximity sensing push button start, auto retractable mirrors as features over the standard XV version. While the XV version will have black interiors, the XV Premium will be done up in a beige trim. According to some sources, the 1.5-liter diesel of the Micra boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 23.08 kmpl, which is remarkably good, even for a small car.
