BMW 3 series LWB showcased at Beijing Motor Show

German biggie BMW has put on display the 3 Series Long Wheelbase Sedan at the ongoing Beijing Motor Show. It is no secret that Indian market is in love with long wheelbase sedans and be it the Indigo XL or the Skoda Superb, cars with massive rear leg room have always found a lot of favour among the car buyers.

The powertrain option are being carried forward from the regular 3 series models- 320i (184bhp), 328i (245bhp) and 335i (306bhp).

However, at the moment, this variant of the 3 series is headed to Chinese market only to compete with arch rival Audi’s A4L.The Li‘s wheelbase is 110mm (4.3 inches) longer than the one found in the regular 3’er. The new variant has an increased length of 4,734mm (186.4 inches).

Recently, we reported the next generation (F30) 3 series is headed our way and now, with the introduction of the Li variant, it will be interesting to see whether or not BMW offers this car in Indian market.

  1. The lower batch of luxury cars look so similar to the higher ones of the earlier. Always good for the consumer. Sad to see Merc sleeping over this…their cars have started to look boring now.
