Benelli BN302 unveiled. Set for EICMA 2013 debut

2014 Benelli BN302

Pesaro based Italian manufacturer Benelli, now owned by Qianjiang Group (China) has unveiled their new entry level motorcycle- the Benelli BN 302 to be showcased at the EICMA 2013 starting 5th of November 2013.

As an offering to compete against the Honda CBR250R, Ninja 300 and the Suzuki GW250, the compact but burly looking Benelli BN 302 is powered by a four stroke fuel injected parallel twin engine featuring double overhead camshafts and four valves. The Benelli BN 302’s maximum engine output reads at 37bhp @ 11000 rpm and 27nm of peak torque produced at 9000 rpm. Power to the rear wheel is transmitted through a six speed transmission with a final chain drive.

The Benelli BN302 is held together by a steel trellis frame with suspension spec’d at 41mm upside down golden coloured hydraulic forks at the front and spring preload adjustable monoshock at the rear mounted on the right side on a twin pipe swingarm assembly. Stopping power is provided by two 260mm discs at the front and a single 240mm unit at the rear.

Just as the rest of the motorcycle, the tank is sleekly designed and can accommodate 16 litres of fuel. The Benelli BN302 will be available in shades of White and Orange and would be available from June 2014 onwards. The pricing has still been kept under wraps.

A first look at the Benelli BN302 made us instantly like the motorcycle. A specification chart reading out good numbers with a decent styling package- how badly do we wish it was made available for the Indian biking enthusiasts (if not at an exorbitant price). Do let us know if you concur with our sentiments.
