The Bajaj V15 was earlier reported to have arrived at dealerships prior to its impending launch and now the home-grown brand has gone ahead and discreetly launched the V15 in Maharashtra at a price of Rs.64,943 (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) while the price on-road Mumbai stands at Rs. 74,746.

The motorcycle, whose fuel tank is made of metal from INS Vikrant, the Indian Navy’s first aircraft carrier, now commands a waiting period of 90 days according to sources at the dealerships. Powering this premium commuter is a 150cc, DTS-i engine that delivers maximum torque of 13 Nm at 5500 RPM, and a peak power of 12 PS at 7500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel by a 5 speed transmission.

Other features on the V15 include  a trapezoidal headlamp rated at 55/60W, 33 mm diameter front fork and rear shock absorbers – the largest in its class, a removable rear seat cowl, an instrument cluster with a dual colour LED fuel level indicator, a LED tail lamp, aluminium die-cast wheels with a double spoke design, a 240 mm front disc brake and a 120 section rear tire.

The V15 will be available in two colours, Ebony Black and Pearl White. Bookings for the vehicle had commenced since 1st February by paying a minimum booking amount of Rs. 1000. The V15 comes with a price tag of Rs. 64,943 (Ex-showroom Mumbai) while the on-road price for Mumbai stands at Rs. 74,746. The Bajaj V15 will compete with the Suzuki Gixxer, Hero Extreme and Honda CB Unicorn.
