Bajaj RE60 Caught Testing in Mumbai. Launch Soon

The much publicized Bajaj RE60 ‘four wheeler’ has been recently spotted testing on Mumbai roads. The new vehicle is expected to debut by the end of this year and the Bajaj RE60 will be sold under the new Quadricycle policy that was recently shown the green signal by the Indian Govt. Bajaj Auto Ltd plans to market the RE60 as an alternative to the three wheeled ‘Auto rickshaw’ which support a huge urban transportation industry.

The RE 60 comes with a 20 PS, 200cc engine that boasts of Bajaj’s ‘almighty’ twin spark technology. The RE60 offers more comfort and safety than an Auto Rickshaw and is claimed to be as easier on pocket to maintain. Bajaj Autos Ltd. claims that the new car will set a global benchmark in terms of Co2 emissions at an incredible 60gm/ km. The company further claims a test fuel efficiency of 40kmpl, and expects the real world efficiency to be in the region of 35kmpl.

The top speed of the car is apparently ‘limited to’ 70 kmph

The new car, or the new four wheeler, as Bajaj puts it, will come equipped with front and rear seat belts, solid doors and a hard top. The manufacturer also plans to launch a CNG version at a later stage.

  1. Awesome, thanks bajaj NANO was just a project of BABA"Yuvraj" this seems like an engineers minds work, i could see that it looks bigger than the ALTO, strangely as we know even autos in india run on 200CC engines where as NANO hardly runs on 600CC of petrol engine. I could see so many places where a NANO is overtaken by a TUKTUK in Indian roads.
