Only yesterday, we reported that the highly anticipated Bajaj Pulsar CS400 launch will take place in 2016. Now, we’ve come up with some details and images of the CS400’s faired twin, the Bajaj Pulsar SS 400 (Super Sports). The new Bajaj Pulsar SS400 launch will take place ahead of that of the CS400, in mid 2015.
The Bajaj Pulsar SS400 boasts of a full front fairing, which houses a twin projector lamps setup. However, the bike misses out on the CS400’s upside down front forks. Powering the new Bajaj Pulsar SS400 would be the same 373.6 cc single cylinder that will power the CS400 and will find its roots at the 390 Duke. However, we reckon that for the SS400, the motor will be retuned to a sportier, reviver side. Also, worth a mention here is that the SS400 is not exactly a CS400+front fairing. The fuel tank of the SS400 is more upright and taller than the one on the CS400, It’s also more angular and muscular looking. The bike also gets a differently styled exhaust. The SS400 also sports a twin step seat setup. While it looks cooler than the seat on the CS400, the rear seat comfort offered would be lesser than that from the CS400’s seat. The bike will have a dual disc setup, with both the wheels getting a disc brake for braking duties. The bike will come with ABS as standard.
Also, unlike the CS400, which gets a neat fully digital speedo console, the SS400 makes do with a semi digital unit similar to the one on the 200NS. The bike’s tail-lamps too are a unique, with a twin boomerang design that we aren’t exactly fond of.
